Did you know your dog is ultimate workout partner?

Some fitness partners flake out, miss workouts, or make excuses. But here’s a partner that won’t: your dog.

Over the next 5 weeks i’ll posting a workout you can do with your dog, take him or her with you and be sure to have fun.

Disclaimer You should consult your physician or other health care professional and a Veterinarian for your dog before starting this or any other fitness program to determine if it is right for your needs. This is particularly true if you (or your family) have a history of high blood pressure or heart disease, or if you have ever experienced chest pain when exercising or have experienced chest pain in the past month when not engaged in physical activity, smoke, have high cholesterol, are obese, or have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in physical activity. Do not start this fitness program if your physician, health care or Veterinarian advises against it. If you experience faintness, dizziness, pain or shortness of breath at any time while exercising you should stop immediately

Pre-exercise Routine / Warm Up

At the beginning of each session please ensure you take just a few minutes to prep you and your dog for exercise. This can be achieved with 3-5 minutes, we call this a dynamic warm up or pre-exercise routine. Dynamic stretches mimic movements used in the sport or activity. Dynamic warm-ups prepare the body for activity by helping to increase blood flow and muscle temperature. If you are not familiar with how to do this please check out our Blog post, Basic Dynamic warm up for you and your dog.
